Digester Cleaning
JKE have invested heavily in state of the art processing equipment
in order that the digestion plants are:
1. Cleaned in the shortest possible time.
2. The amount of waste sent to land fill is dramatically reduced.
3. Reduced all risk to a minimum.
We have achieved these goals in 3 ways:
1. Providing highly trained special operational personnel, who have
years of experience in this type of industrial operation.
2. Introduction of high powered suction units such as DISAB plants,
which can remove the waste rag and grit dryer than traditional jet/vac
units, hence minimizing the waste generated.
3. Development of high specification screening plants, which reduce
the waste fraction to landfill by up to 70%.
In recent months we have cleaned digesters at the following locations:-
Mar 2010 - Emptying 4 x digesters at Riverside STW Thames Water site.
These digesters were decommissioned in 1998 and had 10,000m3 still
inside.
Feb 2010 - Emptyimg and cleaning a promary digester at Croydon STW

Nov 2009 - Emptying and cleaning of digester for Syral (Greenwich).
